
Designed by French designers Jun Yasumoto, Alban Le Henry, Olivier Pigasse and Vincent Vandenbrouck, the Book-sensitive Reading Lamp shuts off when you put a book on it, and then turns on again when you remove the book to read it. Unfortunately, the lamp is only a concept at this time. I hope it will make its way to the real world soon.

The InterView 1700 is the latest dual-monitor system from EVGA which is targeted specially at business presentations, researchers, physicians, financial consultants or creative professionals. It consists of two 17-inch LCD monitors that can be rotated 180 degrees vertically and folded 90 degrees horizontally. Both monitors support a native resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels and feature 8ms response time and 500:1 contrast ratio. In addition, the system also integrates a built-in 1.3-megapixel webcam, three USB ports and a DVI connectivity. The EVGA InterView 1700 sells for $650.

ASUS has come out with a new graphics card in the form of the Radeon HD 4870. The EAH4870/HTDI/1GD5 integrates 800 Stream Processors, a 256-bit memory interface, a 1GB of GDDR5 memory @ 3600MHz, two DVI outputs, CrossFireX support and the new Glaciator+ fansink for keeping the card some 12% cooler than the reference solution. The ASUS Radeon HD 4870 is now available in the UK for £108.99 ($178).

MSI has unveiled a new model of its AM3-ready motherboard line-up in the form of the 770T-C45. The board adopts the APS (Active Phase Switching) power saving technology and features the Easy OC switch, four DDR3-1600 memory slots, a PCI-Express x16 slot and supports the AM3 processor. In addition, it also integrates six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, one PATA connector, a 7.1 channel audio, Gigabit Ethernet and Windows 7-ready. The 770T-C45 is expected to hit stores in the next few weeks for unannounced price yet.

Patriot Memory has announced a new line-up of solid state drives, the Torqx M28 SSDs. Available in 128GB and 256GB storage capacities, these 2.5-inch drives boast a reading speed up to 220MB/s and a writing speed up to 200MB/s. The M28 drives also feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a 128MB of cache memory and a MTBF of over 1 million hours. The Torqx M28 SSDs will start shipping soon with a 10-year warranty.

JTT Japan has designed the world’s first USB powered light lamp. Known as the CFL, the lamp has a shade which gives it a retro lamp shade look. This USB lamp will be released only in Japan for 1280 Yen ($15).

Here is the Eneloop lamp from Sanyo that can be used as an interior light for daily use or as a flashlight in an emergency situation. The lamp will be sold in September with a non-metallic contact charging stand, which have enough juice to charge your Eneloop batteries. No word on pricing so far. We will keep you posted.

Jabra is famous for its Bluetooth headsets. This time, the company released Jabra Go 6400 and Pro 9400 Bluetooth headsets that come with a charging dock for convenience with a touchcreen display. The 6400 features a standard Bluetooth range and looks exactly like a Bluetooth headset from Jabra, meanwhile the 9400 looks like a receptionist’s headset that you can take around your house at up to a 450-foot range. Both headsets have dual-microphones for noise cancellation and the touchscreen that allows you to quickly switch between a cellphone, VoIP or landline connections. The Jabra Go 6400 and Pro 9400 Bluetooth headsets are priced at $200 each.

The Huawei E583X USB modem is able to turn a 3G wireless signal into WiFi signal. The modem is powered by a 1,500mAh battery, which provides enough juice for around 5 hours of working time. You can also recharge its battery using your laptop via USB port. The Huawei E583X USB modem will be released in Europe later next month for an unknown price tag.
