South Korea’s LG Electronics has confirmed that they will launch a 15-inch television set using organic display technology next month, the largest commercial model so far. This active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AM-OLED) display provides better picture quality and consumes less power. It is also thinner than widely used liquid crystal displays (LCD) that need backlight units. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing so far.

Apple and China Unicom have finally announced their agreement concerning their plan to launch the iPhone in China later this year. As reported by AFP, a multi-year deal has been signed by both parties, and they are hoping to launch it sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009.
