
Sony has announced two new e-book readers this week in the form of the PRS-300 and PRS-600. The PRS-300 features a 5-inch LCD display with no audio output and no memory card slot. Weighing at only 220-grams, the gadget provides a 440MB of storage space. Meanwhile, the PRS-600 comes equipped with a 6-inch touchscreen display with audio output and an SD/MS memory card slot. This e-book reader weights at just 286-grams and has a 380MB of storage capacity. Pricing info is still unavailable.

If you don’t get enough sleep and tend to fall asleep during work, then you might need the Wink Glasses. It is a USB powered gadget that clips onto your spectacles when using the computer to make sure that you do not slip into silent slumber. This is how the gadget works. The glasses detect the number of times you blink, and if you don’t blink every five seconds then the gadget begins to fog up around your eyes until you perform the recommended number of blinks. It will keep you awake and alert while computing for hours. The Wink Glasses will be available in Japan early next month for an unknown price tag.

Belkin this morning announced its Headphone Adapter for Apple’s third-generation iPod shuffle. The Headphone Adapter allows you to use any headphone or earbud pair that requires a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can even use VoiceOver through this add-on. The adapter retails for $20 a pop and should be available this week in North America while Asia, Europe and Australia will receive it next month.

Nikon has announced a new addition to its DSLR family with the introduction of D3000. Some of the cool features this new entry-level DSLR offers include a 10.2-megapixel DX sensor, a 3-inch LCD, 11-point auto-focus, continuous shooting at 3fps with full resolution and an automatic dust-reduction system. The D3000 will ship with an image-stabilized AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens for $600 in the late August.

JVC will release the Everio GZ-HM400 Full HD camcorder in August 2009 for around $1150. The video recorder features a 10.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 2.8-inch LCD display, a 32GB internal memory, a SDHC memory card slot, Konica Minolta HD Lens with a 10x Optical zoom, an HDMI output, and iTunes and YouTube support. The GZ-HM400 also adopts K2 technology for a better audio. The camera is able to record around 3-hours of video in full HD resolution.

Kodak has added a new member to its Z-Series line-up in the form of Easyshare Z950. This new point-and-shoot camera sports a 12-megapixel sensor, 10x image stabilized Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD, Kodak’s Smart Capture feature, Fast click-to-capture speed (< 0.3 sec.) and stunning HD picture and video capture. The Kodak Easyshare Z950 will be on sale starting in August for $279.99.

Kodak has recently announced the new Zi8 HD ultra-portable camcorder, which is a successor to the Zi6 and the Zx1. The Zi8 features a larger 2.5-inch LCD with a face recognition, an image stabilization, and a 1080p HD recording. Users can also upload pictures directly to YouTube and Facebook. In addition, the camcorder has a flip-out USB arm for connection to a computer. Available in blue, red, and black, the Kodak Zi8 will be released in September 2009 for $179.

Here’s another portable solar charger from Kodak, the KS100-C +2. This compact device is able to absorb power from either a USB power source or the sun. Once fully charged, the KS100-C +2 holds enough power to deliver 1.5 charges to a cell phone, or run a music player for additional 33 hours, or capture up to 200 digital camera pictures. The Kodak Solar Charger KS100-C +2 will be on sale from September 2009 for a retail price of $39.95.
