
Logitec Japan is out with a new portable DVD player to accompany your netbook. Powered by USB, the drive is capable of reading both single layer as well as dual layer DVD. In addition, it also serves as a ‘boot drive’ in case your hard drive crashes and you need to reinstall the operating system. It’ll be available in Japanese market starting October for $55.

The Cooler Master SNA95 is a 95-watts universal laptop power supply, that is able to run on anything from 100V to 240V. The device comes equipped with 9 different tips, that fit approximately 90% of the world’s laptops. It also has a USB port, so you can recharge USB gadgets without the need of the laptop or PC. You can get the Cooler Master Slim Universal Laptop Power for around $70.

Samsung has unveiled their upcoming Ion-based netbook in the form of the N510. This mini laptop sports a 11.6-inch widescreen display with 1366 x 768 resolution, a 1.66GHz Intel atom N280 processor, a NVIDIA Ion chipset with GeForce 9400M graphics, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB HDD, a card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth, Windows XP OS and a 6-cell battery. Pricing and availability are still unknown at the moment.

The latest firmware update for the Nokia N97 portable cellphone-computer will be available for download on July 4th, 2009. It is said that the new update will help resolve some issues folks had with the handset. We hope that the firmware update is also fix numerous bugs on the handset. We will just have to wait until later this week to see what the firmware update is all about.

Philips has unveiled their latest handset namely the Philips Xenium X630 that boasts a super long battery life. This new candybar phone comes with a 1530 mAh battery capable of lasting up to 12 hours in talk-time, or up to 50 days in stand-by time. Other interesting specs include a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 262k colors, a 3.2MP camera, a music player, an FM radio, a microSDHC card slot (up to 8GB) and Bluetooth with A2DP. Sadly, there’s no word on pricing and availability yet.

The firmware update v31.0.0.15 for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be released very soon. The new update could deliver a new home screen or maybe a widget home screen, or even kinetic scrolling. Stay tuned for more updates.

Samsung has officially announced four new mid-range mobile phones in the form of the Samsung S6700, C5510, M2510 and M2310. The M2310 and M2510 have dedicated music controls, while the M2310 has a VGA camera and the M2510 has a 1.3 megapixel camera.
The Samsung C5510 is a dual band 3G handset that comes equipped with a 2MP camera with fixed focus, and a 16GB of storage capacity. The Samsung S6700 is a slider with HSDPA, GPS, a 3MP camera with auto-focus and dual LED flash, and a 120MB of storage space.

Spain-based company, GeeksPhone has come out with their first Android phone namely the One. This new smartphone runs on Android 1.5 Cupcake and features a 625MHz PXA310 processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a front-facing camera, a microSD card slot, AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and supports quad-band EDGE/HSDPA connectivity. The One will be available in Spain this summer unlocked for anywhere between $352 to $422.

Word has it that Sprint is currently performing internal tests on not one but two Android handsets, and will both be available by next year. The first handset is the HTC Hero, which was announced earlier this week alongside a new UI called Sense, and apparently will be ready before the end of 2009. Meanwhile, the second Android device is the Samsung CDMA/WiMax hybrid. Stay tuned for more updates.
